EWGA Announces August Fundraising Campaign for The First Tee of Greater Chicago

Earlier this year, EWGA and The First Tee announced a partnership to increase female mentoring opportunities. The partnership will bring together more than 120 EWGA Chapters with The First Tee chapters to promote female role models and mentors and create the opportunity for The First Tee chapters to co-host Girls Golf Days at designated program locations.

Glenwoodie Family Golf Lessons

July is Family Golf Month and at Glendwoodie, First Tee families are getting into the swing of things by participating in Glenwoodie’s Get Golf Ready program, a six-week series of golf lessons aimed to introduce the game and basic swing fundamentals. Throughout the summer while participants are receiving their lessons through The First Tee, parents work with Glenwoodie’s instructional staff on the backside of the driving range.

Healthy Habits Camp - September 6

The First Tee of Greater Chicago has another wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy. The Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace participants are invited to our annual Healthy Habits Camp. Local Youth Enjoy Harborside Skills Challenge & Open House

Despite the chilly weather, over 100 local youth came out to Harborside Int’l Golf Center to learn more about The First Tee and test their golf and life skills knowledge. Congratulations to the Union League Boys & Girls Club for winning the skills challenge competition that featured fellow community partners that included Poe Elementary and Claremont Academy.

Northmoor Caddy Program for The First Tee

Earlier this year chapter staff met with Northmoor CC Head PGA Professional Adam Rosuck to discuss opportunities for the club to become involved with The First Tee of Greater Chicago. Together Adam and Lake County Program Director Darryl Stackhouse came up with the idea of introducing The First Tee’s golf and character education program to caddies at the club, many of whom are from the North Chicago/Waukegan area.
