Schools Getting on Board with The First Tee

The First Tee of Greater Chicago is thrilled to announce that the following elementary schools will be offering The First Tee National School Program this school year: Amelia Earhart, St. Ailbe, St. John De La Salle, Immaculate Conception and Caldwell Elementary. The First Tee National School Program trains p.e. teachers to deliver the golf and life skills curriculum to students, K-5, during their regular class time. The chapter works with teachers and schools to provide additional resources, training and playing opportunities for students.

Successful First Year of The First Tee of Greater Chicago’s Golf Marathon

In the first year of The First Tee of Greater Chicago’s Golf Marathon, the chapter raised close to $12,000 through the generous donations from the friends and family of our 20 golfers. Participants golfed nearly 1,000 holes, in order to create awareness and raise funds for The First Tee of Greater Chicago by taking part in a marathon day of fun, fast golf and fellowship.

In a past independent research study of The First Tee, 73% of young people at participating chapters reported high confidence in their ability to do well academically and 52% credited the program for their ability to appreciate diversity.
