What is The First Tee Military Affiliate Program?
In 2009, The First Tee began offering character education and life skills training to children of military and civilian personnel stationed at 560 military installations within the United States. Another 50 bases and 20 overseas bases received the program starting in 2010.
Times of mobilization and extended deployments for National Guardsmen and Reservists can disrupt their lives and those of their children. During these challenging times, The First Tee and its network of nearly 200 chapters across the country are proud to partner with the Department of Defense and extend no cost golf and life skills instruction to the youth of our National Guardsmen and Reservists.
How The First Tee Military Affiliate Program works
Children of National Guardsmen and Reservists are invited to participate at Chapters of The First Tee, such as Greater Chicago, to learn valuable life and golf skills from trained coaches. This summer The First Tee of Greater Chicago will offer dedicated programming for children of families stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station at Foss Park GC and also offer FREE programming opportunities for children of active military families at our other locations including the Chicago Park District, Glenwoodie GC and Cog Hill.
