60-90 young people age 15-20
Young people will go through a three phase program. Phase one will be a discussion on health and wellness presented by AHF. Phase two will be a career discussion conducted by AF and the final Phase will be a golf clinic conducted by APGA pros. Young people will be divided into three groups and will be rotated through each stage.|
Lunch will be provided.
Raffle prizes will be provided by AHF and AF.
Young people will be asked to write an essay entitled “Why it is important tomake positive choices in your health, wellness and careers.”
Essay must not be longer than 500 words.
Essay must be typed and doubled spaced.
Completed essays should be emailed to Ken Bentley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A $250 educational grant will be awarded to the female essay winner and $250 will be awarded to the male essay winner. There will also be five $100 runner-up educational grants awarded.
The educational grants will be presented at the AF/AHF Youth program.
1pm-1:45 Lunch for students participating in AHF/AF program.
1:45-1:55 Overview of AHF health and wellness program and Advocates Career program.
2pm-2:45 First Session
3pm-3:45 Second Session
4pm-4:45 Third Session
4:45-5pm Raffle and Scholarship presentation
11:00 – 12:30 Junior Golf Clinic at Harborside (ages 15 and under) with former PGA TOUR player Adrian Stills
